Last Updated: May 1, 2025

Scholr is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

We believe that the academic community includes scholars of all abilities, and we strive to make our platform accessible to everyone. Our goal is to ensure that all users, regardless of ability or technology, can access and benefit from the full range of services and content available on Scholr.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Scholr strives to conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA. We are actively working to address any areas where our platform may not yet fully meet these standards.

  • Keyboard navigation: All functionality is available using a keyboard.
  • Color contrast: We ensure sufficient contrast between text and background colors.
  • Resizable text: Text can be resized without loss of content or functionality.
  • ARIA landmarks: We use ARIA landmarks to identify regions of a page.
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus indicators help keyboard users navigate the site.
  • Alternative formats: We provide alternative formats for academic papers where possible.
